Sarna, derived from the word 'grove,' is closely linked to the sal tree's name in its etymology. In the Chotanagpur region of Odisha, local folklore holds that a Gram deoti or village deity dwells within the sarna, a hallowed grove situated on the outskirts of the village. Access to this grove is restricted, embodying one of the rare religious beliefs globally that revolves around environmental conservation practices and sustainable living.

Who We Are

Drawing inspiration from the profound and meaningful concept within indigenous beliefs, Sarna is founded as an organization rooted in the historically vibrant city of Bhubaneswar. Our mission is to pioneer innovative approaches to curating immersive cultural tourism experiences in Odisha, while also promoting sustainable crafts and handlooms as offerings for our valued patrons. Additionally, we proudly introduce experiential tourism for school students through our 'Wanderlust Minds' programme.
